Description

The SRA Sectoral AML Risk Assessment – What AML risks are law firms facing?

Over the busy summer months, the SRA released the updated sectoral risk assessment, the second one this year.

The new updated version, released on 6 August 2026, includes which a lot of changes. It looks at emerging and current risks including technology, passporting and reliance on existing due diligence, cash intensive businesses and high street crime, global instability and uncertainty and company registration.

It then goes on to look at established risks in the five key areas of your Firm-Wide Risk Assessment – client risk, geographic risk, product and service risk, transaction risk and delivery channel risk.

There is also a full section on sanctions risk.

It states in the MLR that when putting together our firm-wide risk assessment we must take into account information made available to us from our supervisory authority – the SRA sectoral risk assessment.  Are you are up to date with all emerging, current and established risks in your sector?

This one hour webinar will cover the following:

  • Why we have the SRA sectoral risk assessment
  • What do we have to do with the information contained in it
