Tax Planning, Trust & Probate Update

This webinar will reflect recent changes together with those made in the next budget (which we are anticipating will be in November).  It will likely cover:

  • Advising clients after the Autumn Budget and what’s new on IHT, CGT and trusts.
  • Trust Register and 5 MLD: what the draft regulations/new rules mean for will trusts and other express trusts that need to register on TRS and how this will impact conveyancing and other teams. We anticipate we will have draft Guidance from HMRC by then for comment.
  • The OTS Review of CGT launched in July 2020 and the initial report to the Chancellor, due ahead of the Autumn Budget.
  • Probate applications: what should be happening with the new process?
  • The Supreme Court decision in Staveley: what this decision (19 August) means for pensions and IHT planning.
  • Pensions and life assurance: legal and tax planning for clients now, as part of the estate planning process.
