Current Vacancy for Honorary Secretary
Sadly (for us anyway!) our Honorary Secretary, Cerys Sayer, has transferred to the Bar and will be joining Westgate Chambers in September. Cerys has been our Honorary Secretary since 2012 and has freely given the Society her time and energy as well as being a really great person to work alongside. We wish her all the best.
We are now looking for someone to step into this role. Cerys has written a brief job description below:
“The Honorary Secretary is an attractive role for any member of Sussex Law Society (SLS), whether a newcomer or an established one. The position is multi-faceted. The Honorary Secretary represents and communicates with local SLS members at committee meetings, charity/social/training events and via the newsletter, as well as at regional bi-annual meetings with other Law Societies, and on a national level at centrally organised events such as the annual Presidents’ and Secretaries’ Conference. Consequently, it is an exciting, diverse, opportunity and is flexible thanks to the fact that SLS is privileged to have Jeanette Lacy Scott as it’s administrator to assist and support.
If you have any queries and/or wish to stand for election at the AGM on 17th October, please get in touch with Jeanette Lacy Scott
