Young Solicitors

The Young Sussex Lawyers is a relatively informal group that brings together trainee solicitors and practising Solicitors of up to five years qualified. The group is affiliated to the Sussex Law Society, National Trainee Solicitors Group and National Young Solicitors Group.

Members

The group is representative of Solicitors within the Gatwick diamond and Brighton areas. We currently have around 100 members who have attended the events that we have organised so far. The group aims to:

• Provide support to university, GDL and LPC students, Paralegals, Trainee Solicitors and Solicitors in the Sussex area;
• Improve networking among Solicitors in Sussex and in particular ensure Trainees and Newly Qualified Solicitors are 'in the loop';
• Make a contribution to the education of those interested in pursuing a career in law;
• Improve awareness of issues relating to the profession;
• Participate in pro bono activities to connect with the community in which we work.
